Which airline has the best recline in business class:
Avianca - Mexico City to Bogota @ 350pm or Mexicana - Mexico City to Buenos Aires @ 10pm?

Many thanks for the question regarding business class seating comparing Avianca and Mexicana. The good news is that one is better than the other, the bad news is that even the better of the two is not up to some of the newer standards that other airlines are offering these days (such as true full flat business class seats).

Of the two, Mexicana is the better choice for recline. Their recline on this route is approximately 150 degrees. We’re not talking a truly flat seat, but close to what other leading airlines offer on the route. The seat pitch (distance between seat backs) is about 64 inches which far exceeds that of Avianca which is 56 inches. On the particular route you note for Avianca, it is generally the same aircraft they use on most domestic routes and as such has far less recline and as noted, the seat pitch is shorter.

Hope this helps and thanks for thinking of SeatExpert when it comes to choosing information about the best seats.

Could you please tell me if there is a difference in the amount of incline-recline (how far the seats go back) of the seats in economy and premium economy on the Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340-600.

According to Virgin Atlantic, the Premium Economy class seats have an additional two-degrees of recline when comparing to coach seats. While two degrees may not sound like a lot, keep in mind that most economy class seats only offer a few degrees of recline (perhaps around 6 – 8 degrees). For long-haul flights that Virgin Atlantic flies, the two degrees additional recline could certainly be a big difference over the long flight.
