I’m about to book my seats on Thomas Cook A330 323. The front seats available are 12 a,b,c,d. Would it be better to sit right at the back where there are two * 2 seats?

Essentially, all Airbus 300, 310, 330 and 340 series wide-body aircraft are configured in a 2-4-2 layout in economy class. Most passengers prefer the pairs of seats along the side, as there are no middle seats. In addition, we usually prefer to sit toward the front of the plane as much as possible, since the front of the plane usually gets served during meals first, gets off the plane (and therefore immigrations) sooner, and suffers less during turbulence.
It really is a trade-off based on your personal preference. It is not clear from your question how many people are traveling together. If there are two of you, I would choose the pairs in the back over the center seats further forward.
