I am flying US Airways in the following seats: E90 (Seat 13C); Airbus Jet (Seat 13A); and DeHavilland Dash 8 Turboprop (Seat 9C). I am a size 24. Am I going to have major problems fastening the seatbelt. I figure it will be a bit tight, but will they make me pay for an extra seat?
You might want to ask the flight attendant for a seat-belt extender as soon as you board the plane, and also, if possible, try to select an aisle seat for slightly easier access. Most airlines do not charge for an extra seat, especially if the passenger is able to fit in the seat without requiring the arm-rests to be raised. In the current economic crisis, more flights are flying with relatively empty cabins, so you might actually get to enjoy an adjacent vacant seat. Of course, individual flights can have very different loads, it is basically the luck of the draw.
FYI you can purchase a seatbelt extender of your own on ebay for like $25. It is well worth the money!
