I love using your site and it make me look really good to my clients. I was wondering if you could possibly get the charters on your site, like transat and skyservice. That would be great.
We have had a few requests for charter carriers over the years, but relatively low numbers compared to other scheduled carriers. I have asked our research team about the possibility of adding the charter airlines, and they indicated that this information is quite difficulty to come by, which is the primary reason we have not added them to our site.
Some of the difficulties the research team mentioned are:
- Charter carriers sometimes assemble their fleet from multiple sources, and the same plane type can often be configured differently, making the data collection process exponentially difficult
- Often the seats are not assigned until the day of travel, making it less likely that the passenger can choose a specific seat, thus making our information less valuable
- There is far fewer third party reference material available, and often even the charter airlines do not publish their seatmaps
- With the lack of information, sometimes, we do not even have the most basic information, such as the row numbers and seat letters, the effort required to gather the necessary information is probably several times greater than for a schedule carrier with more widely available information.
With this said, the team is very willing to create these seatmaps if they are able to get their hands on the necessary information. Depending on the actual GDS you use for booking, perhaps you have some of the information already? If you have a good working relationship with the charters, perhaps we could even obtain more concrete information through you?
